A clear & concise exposition of the multi faceted enigma that Mark Drakeford is. He seems a caring but careful man. Someone examines situations in great detail but makes decisions based on gut feelings. He is Welsh but strangely British. Loves Cymru but not enough to respect her as a nation. Hates Tories but shies away from fighting them. Loves freedom but thinks people should do as they’re told. Loves cawl but prefers pate de foie gras. The veritable Janus of Welsh politics. An intellectual who is guided by dogma. I know he loves Cheese but I suspect he must hate grapes?

A socialist who espouses Quisling insurance policies. The ultimate living, breathing oxymoron!

It will be interesting to hear the conclusions of the inquiry.

I watched the proceedings of the inquiry yesterday and other days. Mark Drakeford responded to questions and follow up comments very clearly and calmly. He rebutted accusations of poor leadership because they were not credible, as evidenced by what has been shared with the inquiry to date.

Your summary appears to be based on a desire to see Mark Drakeford held responsible for issues in Wales despite the evidence. You appear to ignore, when it suits, that Wales is not isolated. We are subject to devolved government. You also do not appear to accept that the response to the pandemic was expected to be at a UK government level until less than a week prior to the decision to devolve. You also appear to suggest that Mark Drakeford should have agreed with Cummins/Johnson at every stage without question.

I would suggest I t would be sensible to hear the evidence to the inquiry in full and without prejudice.
